Ride Contest

By popular demand, our Ride Contest is back and we have revamped it with more ways to win prizes, a new badge system, and improved features so you can track more of your ride statistics! Click here to sign up and start tracking your trips!

More Stats:

You can now log your start and stop locations when logging rides, allowing you to track the distance of each trip and your total travel distance throughout the month (and how many miles of driving you’re avoiding by taking transit).  As such, we now have a “longest distance” leaderboard in addition to agency count and total trips. Furthermore, you can now log “trip purposes” for your own record and to earn badges.

Badge System:

Are you a Multi-Modal Maven? A Ferry Fanatic? A Bay Area Railfan? Collect fun custom badges all month long - and boast about them to your friends - by logging your rides and completing challenges on the Ride Contest.

Some challenges may come easy – like riding on 2 different transit agencies. Others may take some effort – such as logging trips to 5 transit-accessible trails (Mega Transit Hiker), logging a ride to 10 different BART Stations (BART Transit Explorer). If you’re feeling ambitious, strive for the “Do You Know the Way to Mexico City” badge (1990 miles of Bay Area transit, the approximate distance from SF to Mexico City), or the “Total Bay Area Transit Rider” badge (one ride on each of 27 transit agencies).  Check out https://ridecontest.com/badges for the full list of badges.

Prizes:

Log trips to increase your odds of winning prizes, such as a behind-the-scenes tour of the the Salesforce Transit Center, an HO scale BART A Car, transit agency merch and tickets, Golden State Warriors swag bags, and more!

Nominate a Transit Hero for the Rider First Awards

Do you have an amazing bus driver, train operator, or station attendant who makes your rides better? Is there a person that speaks up effectively for transit and helps other riders? Or maybe you’ve seen improvements on your trips such as new transit lanes, boarding areas, better signage, or clear communication.

We are soliciting your recommendations for our 6th Annual Rider First Awards, where we will honor the people (and projects) that move transit in the Bay Area ahead. Click here to view the nomination form. The deadline to nominate people or improvements is Sunday, September 24th @ 11:59pm.

Stay tuned for more information about our end-of-the-month Rider First Awards and all things Transit Month! In the meantime, enjoy this flurry of pictures from past Transit Month festivities.
