An update on Connect the Bay, our new transit board game

Two weeks ago, we launched a Kickstarter campaign for Connect the Bay, the Bay Area’s first seamless transit board game. We are proud to report that in just two weeks, 109 people have signed up to back the game on Kickstarter! We are thrilled by this level of interest in the game. Thank you to everyone who has signed up and helped spread the word.

In fact, your enthusiasm has spurred us to set an ambitious new goal for the game: we’re now aiming to hit 250 backers for Connect the Bay by April 18, the final day of our Kickstarter campaign.

By getting more games into the hands of transit supporters like you, we are building our movement and raising awareness about the urgent need for transit reforms.

In addition to supporting Seamless Bay Area's vision for a seamless transit system in the Bay Area, here are four more reasons you should become a backer, if you aren’t already:

  1. Help us envision - and build - the future of seamless transit in the Bay Area. This game is an important tool in our efforts to build support for a seamless transit system among leaders, advocates, community organizations, and members of the public. This game makes it easy to see why building better transit connections between homes, jobs, and entertainment are essential to the future of our region.

  2. Share your love of transit with family and friends. With vaccinations in California opening up to all adults this month, we know you're thinking about future gatherings with friends and family. Become a backer and plan a game night with Connect the Bay!

  3. Get swag you can't get anywhere else. Pledge at the $1 level and you'll see the option to purchase our Fare Vision Map poster or our Connect the Bay t-shirt on the following page. These items aren't available in our online store - you can only get them through Kickstarter.

  4. Show your support for Bay Area designers! Connect the Bay was designed by Berkeley-based architect and designer Alfred Twu, in partnership with Liz Broekhuyse, a Seamless Bay Area board member and designer based in San Mateo.

Have questions or want to learn more about the game? Join us on Wednesday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m. PT for a Connect the Bay demo night. It will be a great chance to get a behind-the-scenes taste of game play before Connect the Bay is officially released. To ensure an enjoyable gaming experience, this event will only be open to 25 players, so don’t wait to register!

Excited about Connect the Bay? You can support the game on Kickstarter at a variety of funding levels, starting at just $1. Your support will help us finalize our board game design and fund the production of digital and hard copy games and goodies for our backers.

We only have until April 18 to hit our goal of 250 backers for Connect the Bay. Don't miss this opportunity to secure a copy of our region’s first seamless transit board game!
