11/21/25: ‼️New polling shows a ballot measure can save Bay Brea transit - you can help! 🚌🚆

Exciting new polling shows the majority of voters would support a Bay Area transit funding measure.

We got a reminder why this measure is so important when, for the first time, Caltrain disclosed they would be forced to only run 1 train per hour, stop service at 9pm, stop weekend service, close one-third of stations, and more if the measure fails.

And at the same time we have the opportunity to make the Bay Area an easier and more affordable place for everyone to get around.

Save Bay Area Transit! Sign up to support the regional transit funding measure.

Without additional funding, everyone in the big 5 Bay Area counties will lose the transit service that keeps our region going as BART, Muni, Caltrain, and AC Transit will essentially collapse.

That's why Seamless Bay Area, Transbay Coalition, and our allies are launching a massive on-the-ground volunteer and educational effort to get this measure passed.

A November 2026 ballot measure will raise over $1 billion a year to save transit and bolster service – saving families money on transportation, unsnarling traffic, growing the economy, cleaning our air, and creating a more equitable and affordable Bay Area.

Hundreds of people are already stepping up to help save Bay Area transit and we need YOU to get involved! If you’re ready to help out, or curious to learn more, here is how you can get involved:

To get this passed, we'll need ALOT of people with a variety of skills and passions. This could mean helping get the word out, research and data entry, web development, social media and graphic design, fundraising, personnel management, and more!

And if you aren't able to put time into helping out at the moment that's great too! You can still sign up to just stay informed about the campaign.

December 10th launch of free/reduced priced transfers, open payment

Taking Bay Area transit is about to become simpler, cheaper, and more convenient with the launch of Clipper Next Generation on December 10th.

This new system will enable two key new features:

  1. On December 10th, you'll be able to start using your credit card, debit card, or mobile wallet options to pay adult fares for transit, and get free (up to $2.85 off) transfers each time you transfer to another transit agency within two hours of the first boarding.

  2. The free transfer benefits for Clipper users will roll out over a 12-week period. Clipper users with Youth, Senior/RTC, and START cards having their cards automatically upgraded within the first two weeks and every Clipper user having their card upgraded within 8-12 weeks.

Transbay Coalition and Seamless Bay Area have put together a Clipper 2.0 Savings Calculator to help you learn how much you can save on your commutes or other trips that use multiple agencies.

Unfortunately, riders who qualify for discounted fare programs will not be able to access their discounts yet when they pay with open payment. MTC says access to discounted fares with open payment is planned for the future, but no schedule details are available yet. This is a major equity gap for riders such as older adults, people with disabilities, people with limited-incomes, and young people who rely on our transit network and discounted fares for their mobility needs.

Please sign onto this petition urging Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Clipper Executive Board to make implementing fare discount programs through open payment a top priority and to provide more clarity about schedule implementation.

Streamlining Paratransit Recertification: Why AB 1250 Matters for People with Disabilities

The governor recently signed AB1250 (Papan), a new bill to streamline the paratransit recertification process. This bill reduces a longstanding inconvenience for paratransit users. By simplifying the recertification process, people with disabilities won't have to go through lengthy processes to prove their disability over and over again.

New polling shows promise for ballot measure that supports seamless transit

The Bay Area transit funding measures can pass with a signature-gathering effort, according to new polling. Voters highly value public transit and perceptions have improved since 2023. Importantly, SF voters continue to be supportive when they're informed that a second measure will be placed on their ballot to save Muni service.

Caltrain outlines severe service cuts without regional measure

Funding shortfalls threaten to reverse Caltrain's dramatic ridership boom following the start of faster, more frequent electric train service. The agency could be forced to run only hourly service, run no weekend service, and more.
