Join the 2023 Bay to Breakers transit cohort!

Join the second annual Bay Area transit cohort running Bay to Breakers on Sunday May 21st, 2023!  All transit fans, friends, and family are welcome for this fun event - a 12k fun run through San Francisco. As is the tradition with Bay to Breakers, costumes are strongly encouraged.  So show us your best transit agency swag, transit advocacy gear, silly hats, or retired transit agency costumes - get creative!

In addition to filling out this form so we know to expect you, racers should register for the official race on the Bay to Breakers website (Select “Individual 12k Run”).

Here's some more details on how we expect the day to proceed:

  • 8:00 am – Assemble at Main & Howard Race entry area (you will be required to show your bib to enter)  Exact meetup location will be confirmed closer to the date. Please arrive by 8:15 am at the very latest.

  • 8:10-8:15 am (don’t be late!) – Group pictures at the start line with the whole Bay Area Transit crew!

  • 8:15-9:00 am – Get ready to start the 'race' - official registrants of the race can use this time to go to their designated corral area for staggered starts.

  • By 9:00 am – All racers will have begun and people go at their own pace - whether a sprint, jog, or walk.

  • 10:30 am-12:30 pm – Join racers and non-racers near the finish line for a victory picnic in Golden Gate Park's 45th Avenue Playground!  We'll bring some snacks and coffee to share - we'd appreciate anyone coming to the picnic to contribute a few bucks for food costs!

BART and Caltrain are expected to run special early morning service from select stations. Once you RSVP, we’ll keep you updated on transit announcements and any special service provided for Bay to Breakers.

This event is an informal gathering. Racers are encouraged to register for the official race, particularly if they wish to access the official race amenities.
