Seamless Bay Area celebrates collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity

Lifting up diverse voices and perspectives, and ensuring a safe and welcoming working environment for all, are central to Seamless Bay Area’s mission and values. This year, we’ve codified these values and practices in two new organizational documents - our Code of Conduct and Integrity Policy.

Lifting up diverse voices and perspectives, and ensuring a safe and welcoming working environment for all, are central to Seamless Bay Area’s mission and values. This year, we’ve codified these values and practices in two new organizational documents - our Code of Conduct and Integrity Policy.

Since Seamless Bay Area was founded in early 2018, we have worked with diverse advocates, organizations, and volunteers from across the Bay Area to build a movement for an integrated, world-class regional transit system. Lifting up diverse voices and perspectives is central to our mission and our values as an organization.

Whether we’re working with external partners or internally with our staff, board members, and volunteers, we strive to keep the needs and perspectives of diverse members of our community at the heart of our work, and to provide a safe, productive, and inclusive working environment that reflects these values.

This year, we took the step of codifying these values and practices in an organizational Code of Conduct and Integrity Policy. These documents are designed to foster diversity and equity, build mutual respect and trust, and ensure that all members of our community feel safe and welcomed.

We recognize that the work of creating an organization that is diverse, safe, and inclusive and welcoming to all is always a work in progress. That’s why we designed these policies to be living documents that are continually reviewed and updated to ensure that they continue to reflect the needs and perspectives of the Seamless community.

We have always believed that building respectful and inclusive relationships among colleagues, stakeholders, volunteers, and members of the public is the basis of good cooperation as well as progress on issues we all care about. And we believe these policies are an important step that will build further trust and understanding among our staff, board members, volunteers, and supporters.

Thank you to everyone in the Seamless Bay Area community for upholding these principles and working with us to build a better Bay Area. If you have questions, thoughts, or feedback, we invite you to reach out to us anytime via info@seamlessbayarea.org
